Be careful. Social Networking...

Cyberculture, cybercommunity - syberspace bears features of our reality, but altogether with all advantages it becomes dangerous for our well-being. I was surprised when discovered such a phenomenon as cyberbulling on the website YOODOO http://yoodoo.org.uk/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27 This is a brief explanation of the causes and consequences of it. It seems to have become a global problem. For reference see Wikipedia
And of course, it is necessary to discuss it with students, so some advice how to avoid being affected by cyberbullying can be found at http://yp.direct.gov.uk/cyberbullying/

  1. The internet has its dark corners much like any big city has its dangerous areas. The question that i'd like to ask is the following: Is it the internet's "fault"? What can be done to reduce cyberbullying? What can children, schools, and parents do?

  2. We have discussed all these issues today, and there was a statement that these all are social problems which have entered a cyberspace. So it is human's fault first of all. I think media and information literacy at critical level can reduce cyberbullying. So teachers and parents should explain children how to deal with technology.
